How It Works

From GitHub connection to team health score — in under five minutes.

Step 1: Connect your GitHub account

Sign in with GitHub and select the projects you want to monitor. CodeVitals installs as a GitHub App — it reads activity metadata (commits, pull requests, reviews) but never touches your source code. Setup takes about two minutes.

Step 2: CodeVitals analyses your team

Within minutes, CodeVitals scans the last 90 days of your team’s activity and calculates scores across three categories: Output, Quality, and Process. No manual configuration needed — the analysis runs automatically as soon as you connect.

Step 3: Read your dashboard

Open the dashboard and see your team’s Overall Health Score — a single number from 0 to 100. Drill into each category to understand what’s working and what needs attention. Everything is written in plain English, not developer jargon.

Step 4: Get coaching recommendations

CodeVitals generates plain-English recommendations based on your team’s patterns. Not technical advice for developers — practical talking points for managers. No jargon: just “here’s what’s happening and here’s what to do about it.”

Step 5: Stay informed with weekly digests

Receive a weekly email summary of your team’s health, trends, and any scores that changed significantly. No dashboard login required to stay informed — the most important information comes to you automatically.
